Photo Exhibition Astronomy in Pictures - the staff choices of the Lagos Ciência Viva Science Centre.
This photo exhibition, with 45 images available by space research institutions (NASA, ESA, ESO), was curated jointly by the Centre's team - all staff members were invited to choose three images each that had somehow sensitized them , whether from the scientific point of view, or even from an emotional or personal point of view.
The Centre decided to advance the production of this exhibition of Astronomy photography for three reasons: to involve the whole team in a joint curatorial process, in which everyone felt they were participating in an exhibition that is part of the celebrations of the 10 years of their place of work. "
"On the other hand, present these images that are the product of the investigation of one of the most fascinating fields of science in people: Astronomy. We chose the discoveries in Astronomy as an obvious analogy of the Portuguese Discoveries - an adventure in the unknown, a bet on knowledge, an adventure for discovery. "
The third criterion for choosing this exhibition, which is a production of the CCVL, is to use, promote and disseminate the scientific contents that the Open Science model allows - a true transfer of scientific knowledge to the Society.
